Dating from the 18th century, this small antique oak table comes from the Auvergne region of France. Made from solid oak, the table features a thick top with rounded edges, supported by four turned legs connected by wooden stretchers. Its simple construction and proportions are characteristic of traditional rural furniture from that era. The top, approximately 4 cm thick, is made up of several planks of solid oak. The wood has developed a beautiful warm brown colour over time, with visible grain, knots, marks, and irregularities due to centuries of use. The turned legs have a simple traditional design, while the wooden stretchers connect the legs and provide additional support. With its compact dimensions, the table can serve as a small desk, a side table, or a rustic kitchen table. Its width of 86 cm offers enough space for a laptop, writing materials, or a small desk lamp. The table retains its aged wooden surface and natural patina, with the wear and imperfections typical of an 18th-century piece.
