Large Art Deco burl wood sideboard, attributed to Guglielmo Ulrich, 1950
An extraordinary and elegant sideboard of Italian manufacture dating back to the 1950s—a masterpiece of Italian design that evokes the sculptural style of great masters such as Gio Ponti and Osvaldo Borsani. The piece is distinguished by the exceptional veneer work on its front, crafted from exquisite poplar or maple burl—featuring a characteristic golden, marbled grain—which creates a perfect, sophisticated contrast with the warm, rich tones of the mahogany wood structure. The top surface is protected by an elegant inset glass panel, while the unit is supported by an imposing, graceful base featuring trestle-style legs finished with gilded brass ferrules. The interior configuration includes side compartments with solid doors, a central section designed as a bar/display cabinet with glass shelving, and the original, elegant vintage brass handles. The sideboard shows normal signs of wear consistent with its age and use. The side doors are functional, while the central section is decorative only. To close the doors, they must be lifted slightly. Free shipping in France, possibility of shipping throughout Europe and worldwide. Ask for a quote.
