VEGGEN DE LUXE – A TIMELESS CLASSIC Veggen de Luxe has played a significant role in the development of other Norwegian wall furniture systems. When it was introduced to the market in the mid-1950s, it quickly became a success. Rolf Hesland and Torbjørn Afdal from the Bruksbo Design Office initiated the development of Veggen de Luxe. However, after a short time, Hesland took over the further development. Originally, the Ringerike furniture factory was the manufacturer. As demand increased, production was expanded to Haug Snekkeri. At the same time, a factory in Italy produced the system for the Italian market, and a factory in France manufactured it for its domestic market. This original Veggen de Luxe wall shelf system is made of warm teak with elegant brass supports — a refined example of Scandinavian functionalism from the 1950s-60s. Clean lines, balanced proportions, and honest materials make this piece both an architectural element and versatile. Its floating design creates a light and airy presence while providing generous display and storage space. Perfect for styling with books, ceramics, or for remaining beautifully minimal.
