Large Cylindrical Vase in Old Moorish blown glass.

Superb blown glass vase from the old maure vieil glassworks. The production of the "verriers de maure-vieil" focused mainly on glass paste and work with stratified mineral textures, as close as possible to its direct environment. The intriguing history of the glassworks fully contributes to the charm of the pieces that come from it. Located on a natural cirque surrounded by wild nature, in the middle of the caldera (south of france), maure vieil is made up of: • a chapel with modernist and extroverted architecture • but also a new age fitness center. • to which is added the maure-vieil glassworks. The verrerie de maure vieux was built in the 60s. It closed its doors in the 90s, leaving a building disused since that day. The vase itself is quite rare and in very good condition, no cracks or chips. Produced in the 60s/70s, this piece is composed of a dominant light beige color, with brown gray marbling. Golden metallic inclusions are also present in the texture of the glass leg. This mineral aspect is typical of the work of the glassworks, whose master glassmaker was bob le bleis. Craftsmanship, high quality. Superb decorative piece or collection the maure vieil stamp (intertwined m and v) is sealed under the glassware.
