Large handmade colourful rug, 305 x 200 cm - G1020

A striking large Azilal rug, entirely handwoven in Morocco, defined by its rich burnt orange background and expressive abstract composition. The design combines bold geometric shapes, irregular lines, and spontaneous patterns inspired by the Amazigh, giving the rug the impression of a large-scale textile artwork. Its warm orange base is accented with hints of pink, fuchsia, burgundy, charcoal grey, soft grey, brown, and natural ivory. The asymmetry and free character of the pattern's shape make it a particularly expressive piece — undeniably handmade and completely unique. Each rug is handwoven by Amazigh (Berber) artisans in a Moroccan cooperative, made from 100% natural sheep wool, woven on a traditional Berber loom, knotted and finished individually by hand. Unique in its kind, with the subtle irregularities characteristic of authentic handmade rugs. The dominant colour is a warm burnt orange, complemented by fuchsia, bright pink, burgundy, deep reddish-brown, charcoal, soft grey, chocolate, earthy brown, natural ivory, and cream. This large Azilal rug works beautifully with contemporary interiors, modern Mediterranean, eclectic, modern bohemian, mid-century modern furniture, minimalist spaces requiring a strong focal point, warm neutral interiors with plaster, stone, or natural wood, and creative artistic spaces.
