Set of 6 Louis XVI style chairs – Painted wood & striped velvet

Set of six Louis XVI style chairs in carved wood, painted in a slightly greyed white, featuring a soft and harmonious patina. The rectangular backs with moulded frames are upholstered in a velvet with alternating stripes of bottle green and golden beige, enhanced by a double row of bronze tacks. The tapered and fluted legs, typical of the neoclassical repertoire, are topped with carved rosettes at the corners of the apron, which is itself adorned with fluting. The seat, generous and well-padded (seat height: 46 cm), features the same striped velvet with identical tacking. The set is likely made in the Louis XVI style in the early 20th century. The velvet upholstery is in perfect condition, with no apparent repairs. The stability of all six seats is confirmed by the seller. The painted wood is entirely original, with no reported interventions. Dimensions: H. 90 cm – W. 45 cm – Seat height 46 cm – Unit weight: 12 kg.
