Succession Lacoste: magnificent Scandinavian nesting tables Made in Denmark, they are designed by Erling Torvits for the publisher Heltborg Mobler in the 1960s. They were also purchased from La Boutique Danoise, which imported top Danish furniture in the 60s/70s. Their prestigious store was located at 42 Avenue de Friedland, Paris (next to the Champs Elysées). Furthermore, they were bought by Yves Lacoste (1929-2026) and Camille Lacoste-Jardin (1929-2016). Renowned ethnologists and geographers, they furnished their beautiful bourgeois apartment in Bourg-La-Reine (92) with exceptional furniture. These three nesting tables in teak and caning feature clean, vaguely curved shapes and great purity. Simplicity, clarity, and emphasis on quality wood summarise this referenced piece of Scandinavian design. The smallest table has an elegant caned top (in perfect condition) that gives it all its character. It also bears the metallic black stamp: Furniture makers DANISH Control. as well as the numbers 013 and 15 engraved under the top. They slide perfectly. The Lacostes purchased these pieces not to collect them but to live with them. They were used by them, as well as their many prestigious guests and children. Therefore, they show some signs of wear (notably on the feet), but nothing superficial. The overall condition is excellent, the tables are stable, solid, immediately usable... and sumptuously Danish! L: 68 cm. W: 33.5 cm. H: 51.5 cm. My prices are firm, thank you. Delivery in Île-de-France possible for 40 euros.
