Here is a very beautiful Italian ceramic vase with an incised decoration and lovely colours, speckled grey and water green, almost turquoise. I thought it was from the Fratelli Fanciullacci factory, but it appears to be a design from the Nuovo Rinascimento factory, founded in 1960, also in Montelupo Fiorentino, by a former employee of Fratelli Fanciullacci, who then offered relatively similar designs. We are always surprised by all these high-quality Italian factories that became very fashionable from the 1950s, which is why they multiplied; ) Many Italian ceramics are presented as coming from the Bitossi house or as creations of the famous Aldo Londi, while they actually originate from Nuovo Rinascimento! Fortunately, there are very good groups of enthusiasts (especially on Facebook) that help verify the provenance of these magnificent ceramics. This vase has the handwritten mention "Italy" and the number 225 (probably the model number, from the mould) under its base, as well as a signature (difficult to decipher). It dates from the 1960s or 70s. This is a large vase, round at the bottom and tapering towards a square shape at the top, slightly flared. But it could also be used to hold wooden spoons, spatulas, and whisks on a kitchen worktop, which would look very nice! It is in generally good condition, with no cracks, but has two chips on the upper rim (which can easily be placed at the back and thus won't be seen) and some missing original glazing on the reliefs of the incisions. It measures 22 cm in height, 9.5 cm in diameter at the bottom, and 10 cm by 10 cm on each side at the top.
