Wall-mounted coat rack from a bistro in curved wood by J&J Kohn, early 20th century This wall hook in steam-bent wood, probably beech, was produced by the Viennese company J&J Kohn, a historical competitor of Thonet in curved wood furniture. It is typical of cafés, bistros, and vestibules from the early 20th century. The structure consists of two parallel crossbars, held by two movable posts at the ends. It features four double-hook hangers: a large S-shaped scroll at the top for coats and hats, and a short hook at the bottom for scarves and bags. The mahogany brown patina is warm and deep. The hooks show signs of wear and slight loss of varnish, indicating an object that has been used. A beautiful decorative piece for an entryway, hallway, or café.
