Borge Mogensen C18 Shaker dining table in oak, FDB Mobler, Denmark, 1947

A beautiful and refined C18 “Shaker” dining table designed by renowned Danish designer Børge Mogensen for FDB Møbler in Denmark in 1947. The table is executed in oak and features a beautifully figured rectangular tabletop with a warm, expressive grain. Its understated construction is strongly influenced by traditional Shaker furniture, an important source of inspiration for Mogensen throughout his career. The simple tabletop is supported by two characteristic T-shaped bases, each constructed with two slender vertical supports, giving the table a particularly light and architectural appearance. Beautiful details can be found throughout, from the softly rounded edges of the tabletop and feet to the carefully proportioned solid oak construction. The subtle contrast between the lighter tabletop and slightly darker base further emphasizes its clean silhouette.
