Oil on canvas of a Mediterranean seascape signed MG – 1950s/70s

Elegant oil on canvas depicting a marine scene bathed in southern light. In the foreground, two traditional sailing boats with red and ivory sails animate a sea with emerald green reflections, worked with a knife. On the horizon, a coastal village with red roofs stands out against bluish hills. The brushwork is generous and textured, with beautiful impasto in the treatment of the water, giving relief and movement to the whole. Signed "MG" in the bottom right. Dimensions: 55 X 38 cm. Estimated period: mid-20th century. In very good condition. An ideal decorative piece for a seaside interior, holiday home, or Riviera-style decor.
