Tobogganing 50s 60s

This magnificent sled has a hell of a cachet with its streamlined lines, its wooden structure, and its beautiful original colors still widely present. Its previous owner told me that he used it a lot during his youth in the 60s, but it may even be a little older. It is a beautiful work of carpenter craftsman. It can still be used in the snow, serve as a small bench, end of sofa or bedside or simply as a vintage decorative object. It is in good structural condition, still very solid but does not hide its age: it has had some repairs over time: one of the boards has one more screw, and one of the vertical uprights, probably split, has been solidified by two screws. It has marks and snags on the wood, especially under one of the skates, at the level of the curvature. The two metal parts at the front have surface corrosion, it remains solid, the metal does not crumble. It has gaps on the original paint, and some stains, including paint. In short, the patina of his age and his busy life, and that's all that makes all his charm. I just cleaned it with a damp cloth and injected white vinegar into the few beetle holes (old it seems to me, not active) and then I brushed generously on the whole. This is my technique to avoid the use of chemical insecticide. It measures 95 cm long, 37 cm wide, 19 cm high. It weighs about 3 kg.
