Large pair of wall sconces with female heads in Empire style - gilded bronze.
Pair of large Empire-style wall sconces, dating from the 1920s-1930s. Made of bronze. Original gilding in good condition, showing a beautiful shine. The wall parts are adorned with a rich rosette of acanthus leaves, extended by long openwork palmettes, giving the sconces an elegant architectural composition. The light arms, with curved and slender lines, are decorated with remarkable female heads. Their elegant composition combines the characteristic ornaments of the Empire style with the softer and more graceful lines of the Restoration style. The bobeches, shaped like acanthus leaves, are made of repoussé brass. The richness of the ornaments and the work on the open parts testify to a high quality of craftsmanship. Electricity has been completely redone and tested (for E14 bulbs). New plastic candles. Careful packaging guaranteed.
