Artisans have since added an iron spike, to convert this into a very attractive candlestand. Generally kneerests tend to be quite rustic, this however, is a much finer example, both unusual and attractive, with exquisite, handpainted details. With characterful wear, and chips to the paint, consistant with age and use. A rare find for a piece of this quality.
