A very elegant pair of art nouveau candlesticks with a ribbed lily pad form, made of soffiato glass in a smoked-topaz colourway with gold leaf accents. They were produced around 1900-1920 by pauly & c. - compagnia di venezia e murano. New old stock (nos) from the pauly & c. - cvm sample collection, auctioned some years ago. One bears an old partial pauly paper label to the base.
