Canvas stamped on the reverse "Toiles et couleurs fines A. Hess, general depot of Lefranc and co, 46 rue Notre Dame de Lorette" Dimensions with frame: 93x80cm. Dimensions without frame: 69x56cm. Good condition, needs cleaning, slight paint losses. *Jean Baptiste Émile VIDAL (1825-1893) was a French dermatologist who studied medicine in Tours and spent most of his career at the Saint-Louis Hospital in Paris. This portrait is to be compared with the one held at the Museum of Moulages at the Saint-Louis Hospital in Paris painted by Élisa KOCH.
