Set of six oyster plates in glazed earthenware produced by the French manufacturer Niderviller. Their beautiful caramel brown glaze highlights a moulded design consisting of six shell-shaped compartments arranged around a central section intended for lemon or sauce. The Niderviller factory, located in Lorraine, is one of the old French earthenware manufacturers; its history dates back to the 18th century. The markings "1748 – 1770" visible in the stamp refer to the period of Jean-Louis Beyerlé and do not correspond to the manufacturing date of these plates. The six plates bear the Niderviller France stamp on the reverse. They are in very good condition, with no chips, knocks, or visible signs of use, and appear to have been very lightly used, if at all. Only a few small firing imperfections can be noted on the reverse, inherent to their production. Dimensions: H2 × W25 × D25 cm each. Weight: 3.660 kg for the set.
