1950 tripod desk lamp by massive - beech wood & brass. Beautiful elegant & stylish mid century modern table / desk lamp. Dark blue painted metal shade, beech wooden rod en brass tripod base. Often by mistake attributed to louis kalff or the german lighting company veb leuchtenbau. Massive was founded in 1926 and originally started as a bronze foundry that manufactured candles and chandeliers. Years later they also specialized in lighting which let to a huge expansion during the 70's. During the 80's became one of the leading lighting companies in the whole of europe. In 2008 philips took over massive. In overall very good condition. Very little signs of time & usage. Specs: height: 40cm. Shade: ø 33cm. Base: 15x15 cm. Designer unknow but nevertheless a timeless elegant vintage mid century modern desk lamp in perfect condition.
