Very pretty bowl whose magnificent milky gray enamel lets the terracotta, slightly chamotted in places, show through. The decoration, very successful, a sort of stylized thistle, is hollowed out in the material and colored a beautiful delicate indigo blue. A very beautiful craftsmanship of great mastery. And for good reason! This marvelous ceramic is signed "dour ccl" for claire célia lambert who worked at the workshop sometimes called hadès or simply dour from the name of the city in belgium where it was located. Claire célia lambert, ceramist born in 1936 in england, worked in dour from 1959 to 1978 and was even one of the leading figures with the bataille sisters. She used several signatures, sometimes ccl, sometimes lambert, sometimes c. Lambert, sometimes hand-engraved, sometimes in felt-tip pen. This bowl is in very good condition, no cracks, no chips, not even a chip. It measures 10.5 cm in diameter and 4 cm in height.
