Ceramic bowl by Marie Hjorth, 1980s, Denmark. About Marie Hjorth: Marie Hjorth is a recognized Danish ceramic artist born in 1941. She is the daughter of the famous ceramist Erik Hjorth and has had a long and remarkable career in the ceramic world. Trained at the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen in 1964, she has over the years managed to maintain the Hjorth family's strong traditions while also adding her own modern touch to ceramics. Marie ran Hjorths Fabrik together with her sister Ulla from 1982 to 1993. Since 1995, the factory has operated as an independent museum under Bornholm Museum. Her works are represented in museums such as Designmuseum Denmark, Trapholt, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She is particularly known for her experiments with stoneware and new decorative techniques, which have given her works a unique character. It measures 10 cm in height, 15.5 cm in diameter, and weighs approximately 815 grams. No chips, cracks, or other defects. Will be packed securely and sent with insurance.
