HISTORICAL AND CRAFT DESCRIPTION A sublime piece of folk art and automotive collection, this miniature is an authentic creation by Fernand Beaumont, one of the most refined wooden toy makers of the immediate post-war period. AN EMBLEMATIC MODEL: THE ROSENGART LR4 N2 This toy is a stylised and elegant interpretation of the famous Rosengart LR4 N2 from 1937-1940. The characteristic aerodynamic lines of the era are immediately recognisable, with its curved wings ("fenders") and high grille. HISTORICAL TESTIMONY (Circa 1945-1950) Manufactured between 1945 and 1950, this car belongs to a fascinating period. In the aftermath of the Second World War, steel was a rare commodity, rationed and reserved for reconstruction. The ingenuity of creators like Fernand Beaumont was to elevate solid wood to create luxury toys, where industrial metal production had come to a halt. TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS Signature: Perfectly preserved original label under the chassis: "ROSENGART - FERNAND BEAUMONT - REGISTERED MODEL". Manufacturing: High-quality French craftsmanship, assembled from precious woods and dyed throughout (purple, black, and natural tones). The four wooden wheels are original. They are perfectly free and turn with great fluidity. The object is not stuck, indicating optimal dry preservation. Dimensions: Length 20 cm X Width 10 cm Height 8.5 cm. Weight: 280 grams. CONDITION: AN AUTHENTIC PATINA Visual aspect: There are some scratches and light scuffs from use on the top of the bodywork. These signs of handling, normal for a toy over 70 years old, testify to its history and give it an authentic patina highly sought after by collectors.
