Ancient chinese apothecary furniture

Former chinese apothecary cabinet in essence of laqué walnut, shanxi province, 19th century. Unique piece. It consists of 45 drawers with small brass button and small ring. 42 small drawers. 3 large drawers. All compartmentalized has 3 lockers inside (see photo) possibility to remove these compartments according to his wishes. these furniture were traditionally used to store herbs and anointings with therapeutic or magical virtues. Each drawer is numbered in chinese -but we don't speak chinese - they are interchangeable. A drawer has been restored but works perfectly well. Beautiful patina of wear left by time.
