Superb mid-century coffee table. The top is made of terracotta-coloured lava stone tiles and ceramic tiles. The base is made of steel. Jean Jaffeux (1931-2015) was a French ceramist and painter, specialising in glazing on lava stone. For over fifty years, he created decorative works and monumental commissions for churches, public buildings, and private individuals. His work, often featuring abstract patterns or inspired by nature, helped to popularise the art of glazed lava in France and around the world. His coffee tables, along with other materials, are in line with the coffee tables of Roger Capron and Vallauris. Designer: Jean Jaffeux. Publisher: Atelier Jean Jaffeux. Origin: France. Period: 1960.
