Villeroy and Boch Rusticana two-handled cup and saucer

This set of two-handled cups and saucers by Villeroy & Boch, in the famous Rusticana model, evokes the art of living in a dreamy countryside, somewhere between an English cottage and a family home. In a rare shade of deep burgundy pink, sometimes called "pink red", each piece features a richly detailed country decor: bucolic scenes, cottages, trees and horses, as if etched, in a neo-rural style dear to lovers of narrative earthenware. Slightly scalloped edges of the cups and saucers. Stamped Villeroy & Boch Model Rusticana (two different stamps - see photos). Cup: height 4.5 cm, diameter 13 cm. Saucer: diameter 17 cm. Period: 1960s to 1980s. Very good vintage condition, glossy glaze, a repaired chip under the saucer not visible when the saucer is placed (see photos). A classic of country chic. Ideal for a rustic brunch.
