This is a vintage blanket chest produced in the 1960s by Jitona Soběslav, designed by Bohumil Landsman and Hubert Nepožitek, two renowned figures of post-war Czechoslovak furniture design. The piece is in very well-preserved original condition – structurally sound, clean, and fully functional. What stands out most is the striking mahogany wood veneer on the front, featuring a highly decorative grain pattern under a high-gloss finish. The lid opens upward with the support of a brass stay, and the interior is clean, ventilated with slotted wooden base panels. While originally intended for bedding storage, this chest can also serve as a linen trunk, storage bench, or entryway cabinet. Manufacturer: Jitona Soběslav.
