Superb Scandinavian convertible bench (daybed / clic-clac) from the 1960s. A rare and high-end piece, distinguished by the exceptional and ultra-organic craftsmanship of its sculpted solid wood armrests (teak/walnut), offering a fluid and streamlined line typical of Mid-Century design. Possibly from an eminent Scandinavian designer of that era. Modularity & Comfort: Very clever, the backrest tilts fully back in the blink of an eye to transform the sofa into a large, comfortable guest bed (perfectly functional clic-clac mechanism). The added comfort: Four custom back cushions have been made and added to the structure to enhance support and provide optimal seating comfort for everyday use (visible in the photos). They can be removed or arranged according to your preferences to modify the look of the bench (smooth back effect or segmented back). The wooden structure is sound, stable, and has a beautiful original patina. The olive green fabric and foams are period (in their original state, showing signs of use and creases), ideal for a personalised reupholstery project or to use as is with throws for a retro look.
