A magnificent collector's item by the Finnish Matti Martikka. A rocking chair made of solid pine from fallen tree trunks. This stump chair comes from a museum in his hometown of Lappeenranta. A unique opportunity to acquire a rare decorative object. Other pieces of his have been sold in some of the world's largest auction houses and exhibited in various museums. Matti Martikka, originally from South Karelia, was a locally known carpenter. His woodworking hobby began with small everyday objects made for domestic use, but eventually, the interior design of the home was dominated by increasingly large wooden items. Martikka carved chairs from tree trunks and made large log tables. He never sold his furniture but kept it for his home museum in Joutseno.
