Magnificent antique pediment from the 19th century, made of carved and gilded wood, representing a large ribbon bow in the Louis XVI style. Entirely carved from wood, it features wide openwork loops and beautifully crafted deep folds that give a lot of movement and relief to the whole piece. This old decorative element, likely reused, was probably intended to crown a mirror, a frame, a woodwork, or a door top. Its old gilding has a very beautiful patina of use and reveals the underlying red ground in places. The back, left raw, retains traces of the carving work. With its width of 38 cm, this large bow can now be used as a mirror pediment or simply hung on the wall as a decorative architectural element. In good antique condition, with patina, wear, and small losses of gilding related to its age, visible in the photos. Dimensions: 38 × 20 × 5 cm. Weight: 300 g.
