A rare Teknika lamp, copper and hard-pressed plexiglass. Denmark 1950s

A rare Teknika lamp, made from copper and hard-pressed plexiglass. Denmark, 1950s. The model is called K.P 1931. It measures 31 cm in height and 19 cm in diameter (hence the name K.P 1931 = Kobber/copper Pendant, combining the measurements) We have fitted a new white lead and a white strain relief, and it does not have a ceiling cup. No damage, but with signs of use and wear (it is 70 years old). Still an incredible lamp. About Teknika: Teknika A/S, or Teknika Mekaniske Establissement, was a Danish manufacturer of lighting and machinery, active from 1943 to 1971. In 1971, a series of poor business decisions, combined with the oil crisis, led to Teknika’s closure. Teknika is not particularly well known, but lighting enthusiasts know that the company produced high-quality lighting, and their lamps are now highly sought after, even here in Denmark.
