Pair of charming ceramic shells with hand-painted décor. The motifs attest that they come from the earthenware factory "saint-jean-de-bretagne" which opened in 1943 and operated until 1989 in the commune of saint-jean la poterie, a commune that has welcomed potters since about 1420. Underneath, the pieces of this factory were stamped with the model number and the initials of the decorator. Here, we have these elements under one of the cockroaches, although a little difficult to decipher... I will say lnn followed by 1003, 1003 corresponding well to this scenery according to the information I found. Under the second, no signature, maybe even it was decorated by another decorator because the triangles and dots that decorate the pedestal differ a little. They are in good general condition, no crack, but have some marks of time and use: one of the two has a small ginning on the top edge, the other a slightly larger ginning on the top edge too, as well as a very small ginning on the base and another, larger but located under the base (these 4 defects are visible in the foreground on the last 4 photos). They are 6.3 cm high and 4.9 cm in diameter. I offer many poppies and other objects or furniture in my online store (click on "see other products from this seller"). If you want to order several, do not hesitate to contact me before ordering to negotiate prices and for me to adjust shipping costs in case of grouped shipment.
