This Art Deco chandelier, from around 1930, is a centrepiece of the interwar period. Typical of the modernist style with its airy lines, it stands out for its great richness of detail. The glasswork is signed "Ezan France", renowned for its opalescent moulded-pressed glass with bluish hues. The opalescence varies with the lighting: a cool bulb accentuates the azure tones, while a warm bulb reveals a warmer shade. The five corollas feature a honeycomb embossed decoration, and a glass prism ball completes the ensemble. The frame is attributed to Henri Petitot. Made of copper with a medal patina, it showcases the craftsmanship of the art bronzier. Petitot made the use of glass tubes to cover the central shaft one of his aesthetic signatures. Here, sixteen glass tubes fit precisely into the structure, concealing the metal axis to create a sculptural column. In excellent condition, with a slight crack on one tube (invisible once mounted). The period electricity is sound. Ceiling hook included. An exceptional piece, beautifully made in France, a legacy of Art Deco. Dimensions: W.60 X H.60 cm.
