Beautiful Syrian chest

Very beautiful Syrian walnut chest richly decorated with mother-of-pearl inlay work. It rests on a base with oblique feet, also decorated with openwork patterns and inlaid with mother-of-pearl. The decoration is symmetrical and presents a complex floral and geometric pattern. We can distinguish intertwined arabesques, scroll patterns and stylized figures, evoking oriental art. Inlays: the mother-of-pearl, cut into small geometric shapes or floral patterns, is inlaid into the wood to create a luminous contrast effect.
