One of the most remarkable chairs we have ever had: the Bolide by Tom Dixon, designed in London in 1991. A steel frame as skeleton and woven seagrass as skin make this lounge chair a true sculpture. The shape is inspired by a cobra, which is beautifully reflected in its undulating line. It is a kind of rocking chair that perfectly follows the shape of the body and is therefore wonderfully comfortable. A collector’s item for lovers of 1990s design; the natural materials give the chair a warm presence. A sculptural eye-catcher in a modern, eclectic or design interior. Dimensions: height 121 cm, width 55 cm, depth 122 cm, seat height 54 cm. Material: steel, woven seagrass. Designer/Maker: Tom Dixon. Period: 1991. Origin: London, United Kingdom. Condition: good, consistent with age.
