Mid-20th century bust of Lucius Verus, a Roman co-emperor who ruled together with his adoptive brother Marcus Aurelius from 161 AD until his death in 169 AD. The bust is a reinterpretation of a marble example from the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Lucius Verus was sent to the East to lead military operations against the Parthians, and the war was successfully concluded in 166 AD. Made of a type of plaster, very heavy. In very good condition.
