Superb sugar bowl in Japanese porcelain, hand-decorated in the Kutani style, recognisable by its bright colours (red, blue, gold, green) and gold accents. The decoration features traditional Japanese flowers and a geisha, typical of export porcelain from Japan during the 1950s-1970s. The underside bears a red mark with a rising sun and Japanese characters, a common signature of post-war Kutani or Satsuma porcelain. Origin: Japan. Period: circa 1950-1970.
