Patinated terracotta sculpture, Winged female figure in movement, 30 cm

Elegant figurative terracotta sculpture representing a stylized female silhouette, in a slender, dancing posture. The large ribbed wings that envelop it and rise in a fan, evoke a fluid, aerial movement. This shaping, through its theatricality and ample draping, recalls the choreographies of loïe fuller, an icon of modern dance at the turn of the 20th century, associated with the world of art nouveau. The piece is hand-modeled and unsigned. Its surface has a rough patina mixing ochres, grays, and dark traces, which emphasizes the reliefs and gives the whole a strong sculptural presence. The face, soberly drawn, exudes a peaceful expression.
