Sandstone lamp base, Willi Fischer, Ego Stengods, Sweden, 1960

Stoneware lamp base by Swedish ceramicist Willi Fischer for the company Ego Stengods, 1960. In excellent condition despite its great age. The lamp base features two different pretty bird motifs. Brown in color, the parts with the birds are glazed in khaki green. Two small chips are noted at the base (see photos), otherwise no other signs of wear or chips are noted. The original socket has been replaced as well as the plug which did not meet European standards (Sweden used different plugs from the rest of Europe until the 1970s). The cable and switch are original and in very good working order.
