Antique solid wood desk – Late 19th century (1880-1900) – Restored

This charming solid wood desk from the late 19th century has regained all its character after a complete restoration. It has been fully stripped, treated against pests, and then protected with a clear matte varnish that preserves the natural beauty of the wood while ensuring its protection. Its top tells a unique story. Once covered with a veneer added over the years, this has been removed to reveal the original wood. The old marks left by woodworm are now perfectly treated and stabilised. Far from being hidden, they have been deliberately preserved: they testify to the history of the piece and give it a unique patina that is impossible to replicate. Each mark of time makes this desk an authentic piece, with a personality that only antique furniture possesses. It features a practical central drawer, although the original key has been lost over the decades.
