Pair of Vintage Chinese Komainu Guardian Lions Foo Dogs Blue Pottery 20cm

Rare pair of chinese glazed ceramic komainu statues, guardian lions or better known as foo dogs, hand-painted in turquoise, yellow and grey, collector's items from the second half of the 20th century. These precious little statues are replicas of the foo dogs, originating in china. The original guardian lions can be traced back to the han dynasty, where they were traditionally displayed in front of china's imperial palaces, government offices and the homes of the wealthy. This beautiful couple is in good vintage condition, with only a small imperfection on the tips of the ears of 1 of the figurines, check the photos for more details! Dimensions: lh 10x8x20cm each.
