Nocturne painting signed and dated 1882

Cod: 10421. Antique italian painting dated 1882. Oil on canvas artwork, on the first canvas, depicting a religious subject, nocturne with characters, the night on mount calvary. Large size and strong impact painting adorned with a coeval frame in wood and plaster, finely carved and gilded (see photo). Nocturne that amplifies the despondency and anguish of the followers of jesus intent on picking up the nails and carrying away the cross on which, until a few hours earlier, the son of god had been crucified. Artwork signed and dated lower right l. Raymond 1882 (see photo) referable to the turin painter lodovico raymond (1825-1898), lacking authentication. Painting that has undergone a conservative restoration with a small patch on the back (see photo). In good condition with some small signs of aging. Sight size h 83 X w 137 cm.
