Vintage photographic print with ethnographic character representing a large Baga Nimba mask, captured during a ritual in West Africa, probably in Guinea. The photograph highlights the sculptural structure of the mask as well as the elements of the costume made from plant fibres, in a simple and clear composition. The black and white emphasises the contrasts and accurately reveals the textures and volumes, in a documentary approach typical of ethnographic prints from the 20th century. Presented with a mount and framed, the overall size is approximately 44 X 44 cm, suitable for wall display. The condition is fair considering its age: there are signs of wear as well as a visible crease in the bottom right of the print. These marks do not significantly affect the reading of the image. The frame is in generally good condition.
