Ancient 'Bubbles' vase from the Vannes Crystal Factory

Vintage vase in solid crystal with a squat shape and a slightly tapered neck, entirely covered with a decor of reliefs in bubbles and organic swirls moulded into the mass. The material, thick and clear, creates a play of refractions and striking visual depths, where each angle reveals new reflections. The sculpted surface evokes both coral, pumice stone, and eroded natural forms — a formal vocabulary very characteristic of French glass design from the 1960s. Founded in 1765 in Meurthe-et-Moselle, the Vannes-le-Châtel crystal factory began its transition to crystal between 1962 and 1964, before joining the Daum group in 1980. These pieces, produced mainly in the 1970s, are now highly sought after by enthusiasts of vintage French crystal.
