Onyx and marble chess set

Onyx and marble chess set, hand-turned pieces. Italy, circa 1960–1980. Board made of veined white marble with a brass border, chessboard inlaid with alternating tiles of translucent green onyx and red breccia marble. Turned pieces: one set in milky white onyx, one set in veined red-brown marble, in a simplified style with cylindrical and spherical profiles. Board: 24 × 24 cm. Pawn: H. 2.5 cm. King: H. 4.2 cm. Overall in good condition. Light surface wear on some pieces, consistent with age. A defect in the marble on one of the corners. Complete set.
