Very elegant French stool from the 1950s, attributed to designer Raoul Guys, combining a fine structure in black lacquered tubular metal with a woven rattan seat. Its particularly graphic design is distinguished by its airy base, taut lines, and triangular reinforcements, characteristic of post-war modernist aesthetics. The contrast between the rigidity of the black metal and the warmth of the rattan gives it a presence that is both understated and highly decorative. The rattan seat is original and shows a beautiful patina of time. A few strands are loose or broken, reflecting its authenticity and history, without altering the overall appearance of the piece. A very beautiful accent seat, to be used as a stool, small seat, or decorative element, which will naturally find its place in a modernist, brutalist, bohemian, or contemporary interior.
