The "Ozoo 700" desk, designed in 1967 by French designer Marc Berthier and published by Roche Bobois (as well as distributed by D.A.N. And Ingo Maurer), is fully embedded in the context of experimenting with plastics and synthetic polymers applied to domestic furniture in the late 1960s. This innovative collection holds a significant place in the history of "Space Age" design and earned Marc Berthier the prestigious René Gabriel award. Rewarding a bold and futuristic approach, the series is now preserved in the collections of leading institutions such as the Centre Pompidou, reflecting the emergence of popular and functional design. The structure of the desk consists, from bottom to top, of a self-supporting monobloc shell with clean lines and rounded corners, resting on a closed base, and extending upwards with a wide moulded work surface that incorporates storage compartments carved directly into the material for pencils, documents, and accessories. The object is made of polyester reinforced with glass fibres, covered in a light grey finish, giving the whole a matte or satin lacquered finish. The model was also produced in red and green. The piece is in very good original condition, with only a few minor signs of wear and friction consistent with its age.
