Authentic oak sideboard by René Gabriel – Reconstruction period, 1940s/1950s. Patinated white. Authentic solid oak sideboard and oak veneer by the famous modernist designer René Gabriel, an emblematic figure of French Reconstruction furniture. This iconic model, known for its rigorous, robust, and minimalist lines, has previously received a light patina (applied by its former owners). This bleached/waxed finish brings a beautiful contemporary brightness to the piece while revealing the natural and noble grain of the oak. A superb compromise between historical design and current trends (bohemian spirit, chic country, or modernist). • Central section: A column of 5 stacked drawers with their original profiled wooden handles. • Side sections: Two solid doors opening to a large storage space with shelves. • Base: Sturdy base with compass leg lines, a signature of René Gabriel's functional and refined style. Condition: Good overall condition. The piece is sold "as is" with its timeworn patina that adds to its charm. It is perfectly stable, sound, heavy, and of high-quality craftsmanship. 📐 Dimensions. • Length: 154 cm. • Height: 98 cm. • Depth: 47 cm.
