Beautiful brass coffee table with white marble top and lacquered coating, attributed to and reminiscent of the style of the parisian design house, maison jansen, circa 1960s/1970s. The rectangular gilded brass frame features a geometric "h" shaped pattern combined with curved "u" shaped edges, with decorative ornaments on each side, and ends with two acorn shaped ornaments in their center. The marble top with carved edges is white with multi-colored veins ranging from pink to gray (see photos), which, in contrast to the gold color of the frame, the decorative gold ornaments on the fluted legs and tips, really makes this glamorous table a remarkable conversation piece. The piece is in good, original and vintage condition, with slight signs of age and previous use consistent with time, as well as a patina of time, on the entire frame and top (see photos). There are a few very small tiny marks on the top (mostly the coating/glaze). We took a close-up photo, next to a penny, for perspective (see photos) as well as an old use mark (ring) that is barely noticeable (see photo, next to a penny for perspective). Some areas of discoloration on the metal frame and decor (see photos) as you would expect for a piece of this age. The table is solid and stable. It has only been gently polished to the original patina of time. The inside of the frame has been polished as there were old marks of time, absolutely not visible, when the marble top is in place. A fantastic and timeless piece that will blend perfectly with any decor mid-century, vintage, rustic, contemporary. Photos were taken in natural light to show the color variations, depending on the brightness.
