This Arne Jacobsen armchair from the Series 7 by Fritz Hansen, model 3207, was designed in 1955 and is offered here as a complete set of three examples. The seat shell consists of laminated and steam-pressed teak veneer, which Jacobsen crafted into a flowing, one-piece form. The armrests and shell stem from the same material and flow seamlessly into one another. The four-legged steel frame is slenderly proportioned and fitted with black plastic gliders. Two of the three chairs bear the engraved mark 'FH Danmark' on the underside. At 61 cm wide, the chair provides ergonomic support without additional padding, as the shell shape accommodates the natural curve of the body. As a Mid-Century armchair, the 3207 works equally well at a dining table or as an occasional chair in a study or living room. In a Berlin Altbau apartment it combines harmoniously with dark postwar wooden tables as well as with modern surfaces such as oak or marble. Finding three chairs of the same model and age as a closed set is rare. Age-appropriate wear marks on the armrests are present.
