Antique Chinese lacquered coffee table

Chinese coffee table from the early 1900s in lacquered wood. It features a top decorated with engraved paintings depicting a floral scene with peonies and a magnificent peacock at the centre. In Chinese painting, the peacock is a major symbol of peace, prosperity, beauty, and dignity, often represented with peonies to embody wealth and high social status. The lacquer on the top has acquired a slight patina over time, with some visible wear as shown in the photos. The structure rests on four intricately carved wooden legs, in perfect condition, showing no visible wear. This is a coffee table that can fit anywhere! Very refined and relatively lightweight, it is very pleasant to look at due to its colours and lines, with a smooth touch.
