Boulle marquetry sideboard

Boulle marquetry sideboard richly decorated with bronzes, brass inlays on a tortoiseshell background. This blackened pearwood sideboard is decorated with bronze rods and moldings, finely chiseled with ovals or floral garlands. In the middle, a panel on a tortoiseshell background is sumptuously decorated with brass inlays, composed of volutes, arabesques, and fleurons. The lower crosspiece is slightly cut and has a large bronze sculpture in the center. The uprights of this napoleon III sideboard have cut sides and are inlaid with brass ornaments on tortoiseshells. On the sides, the corners are fitted with spandrels. The interior of this sideboard, and its door, is made of mahogany. It is made up of two adjustable shelves on racks whose edges are made of noici pearwood.
